Artwork destroyed!!!

Just needed to blow some steam here... but I bought a laptop and am selling my desktop, so i burned all my stuff off onto dvds. my portfolio took 2 dvds to burn... and i accidently (after formatting my harddrives) stepped on the dvd with the most recent artwork (psd and jpgs) and is now unreadable.
So here I am... scanning the harddrives with unformatting software hoping the 20-80 meg psd files will be retrievable with 0% data loss (because it would then be worthless)...
So wish me luck...
I'm sure many of you have lost work in the past... I have as well... many many works of mine lost in the dead harddrive that still sits next to my desk
